Q)When did you first start playing music? i started playing instruments when i was around 8, singing a few years after that. i picked up on existing pieces extremely quickly. for me its all about the ear, i don't read music.. just listen for what sounds good and what doesn't. so far ive played piano, keyboard, recorder (in school), guitar, synth and a little (VERY little) five string bass. i started doing full on covers when i was really young on the piano, things like fur elise and moonlight sonata. up until mid 99, everything i tended to play on all my instruments was someone elses stuff, because anything i came up with before i got my synth flat out sucked. having a dependency on an instrument of type bugs me.. but i am very glad that i discovered what i was proficient in.

Q)What are or were your major influences? musically i view influences as the bands and artists who caused me to sit back and say 'hey, i think im going to start playing guitar', or 'im gonna buy a synth and make trance music', though there are an amazing number of artists and musical genres that i thoroughly enjoy listening to. guitar was the first instrument i willingly decided to start playing in early 95, and thats all nirvana/alice in chains/holes' fault. i'd never really taken music or singing too seriously until i decided i was going to be a rock star. then came paul oakenfold, and others like him.. i got my synth in 99 with the intent of creating music similar to what they spin. i figured since i pretty much knew piano already a synth would be a good outlet, since the guitar wasnt really my bag when it came down to it. tendonitis from being a computer geek didnt make playing guitar much easier.it seems though, that when it was all said and done.. my music fell pretty far from the tree it grew from.

Q)Could you tell us the equipment you like to use and some notable accomplishments? i have an equipment page on http://www.notapplicable.org, as well as a press page and some other stuff. my biggest personal accomplishment thus far was singing in front of an actual audience last saturday. that waspretty rad. musically, i would say that finally settling into (for now at least) a musical style and discovering that i can actually create and not just directly mimic other peoples artistry was quite an accomplishment for me.

Q)Where would you like to see your career in 6 months to a year? the only full-time 'career' i wish to pursue in music right now is singing with Cirque Du Soleil. other than that, i will continue to do what i am doing now.. making music when i want/need to and post it online.. preferably with mp3.com.

Q)Whats your opinion on online music trading such as Napster? a biased one. i put my music online with no expectation or demand for compensation, i just wanted to make it available and on a very basic level have another copy of my stuff around someplace in case my computers crashed or a natural disaster wiped everything out up here. it took coaxing from a friend to even make up cds to sell. ive done a few vanity searches on napster and been quite pleased (and totally amazed) that my material is available there. then again, im not an overstuffed money grubbing has been record industry sell-out, either. fuck you metallica.

Q)Any last words or comments? not really. if you have any follow up questions feel free to write. thanks!
