Custom, premium quality wigs start at $425 and go up based on length and complexity. Dread sets of 60 double-enders start at $180.
I have been working with fake hair for a fistful of years now, and I really love doing it! I am self-taught through the invaluable resources of the fake hair community online. Specifically, I found the information and the wonderful support from the people at fakehair.livejournal.com, the Heavenly Hair forum (now Hair Extension forum), Doctored Locks, and Quinnsters hair site to be immensely encouraging. If you found me looking for hair instruction, check out those sites.
“I love these dreads. I never thought I could be blond and it’s pretty sweet that I can” – Anais(pictured right)
“First of all – thank you! Your site is the only site I have found that do EXACTLY what I’m after and the quality of what you make just looks fantastic!” – Louise
“I’d just like to say, there are plenty of people that make dread wigs..but not to your standard. When I wear one of your wigs, everyone thinks they are extentions. Other wigs I’ve seen, look..well..very wig like! :p” – Ju x
I started out making extensions, clips, and dreads for myself. After a little time, the response from the community was so positive I started fakehair.net in 2004 and began creating works of head art for others. I love commissions and working with performers and theater groups! I rarely have anything pre-made in stock these days. When I do, a “SALE” link will show in the menus above.
I have worked online with people just like you to make hair creations that can be seen on fabulous heads all over the world! I may be reached for hair and craft purposes at courtnee [at] gmail [dot] com, but please make sure to read up in the stylist section before asking questions.
“Girl, you did an awesome job on this. I couldn’t believe how well it fits and how RAD it looks. I was out helping my husband look for a costume this weekend and we hit all the big places, and this blows everyone else away!!! I think it is better than what Johnny Depp had to use! Seriously!!!” -Baxanne, in regards to her Captain Jack Sparrow wig
My dreadlocks are made with 100% Kanekalon synthetic hair, back-combed, steamed, trimmed, steamed again, and treated with beeswax. The ends are sometimes sealed with craft glue that dries clear, depending on the dreads thickness and need for it.
My dreads are dynamic, unique pieces of artwork. If you’re looking for perfectly symmetrical, straight stick dreads, I’m not the girl for you. My dreads are organic creatures with a life all their own, they very in size and texture.
I am able to do any color combination you like with stripes, blending/marbling, etc. As an artist I happy to work within a set of colors and allow the set to evolve in regards to the details.
